This work, the author — born in Manaus — revisits, for the first time as a photographer, the city where he lived during his childhood. To return to that space marked by emotional memory, I built a situated perspective: a subject from the Northern region of Brazil who observes and interprets one of the large metropolises located in the southern part of the country, or Rio de Janeiro.
The images that make up this project propose a sensitive and subjective approach. Nelas, the author mobilizes an imaginary built from countless comings and goings between two cities, in a continuous movement of relocation not only physical, but mainly symbolic. Memory and experience intertwine, producing images in which people's memories are confused with present perceptions, and where the past and the present coexist in the same visual field and become the true theme of work.
