Imprecise Boundaries is a visual essay created in the Recôncavo Baiano, a region of the state of Bahia marked by a somewhat unclear geopolitical division — hence the title, which suggests fluid borders both in territory and in human relations. This work addresses the daily lives of the people who live there, placing human beings and local life at the center of the narrative.
More than capturing landscapes, the work translates experiences, cultures, and ways of existing in an area where the boundaries between communities, traditions, and histories are not always clearly demarcated.
Beyond the documentary aspect, the project engages with more subjective issues, such as the interaction between photographer and subject and the "imprecise boundaries" between them. It is a reflection on how photographer and subject interact and simultaneously influence the experience lived by both.
